Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks in Bishkek.
“Today we complete the process of delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border. This is truly a historic event. We have demonstrated our readiness for dialogue and the search for mutually acceptable solutions on border issues.
I am convinced that after ending the border issues, we will lay a solid foundation for the stable and reliable development and prosperity of our future generations,” Sadyr Japarov stressed today, January 27, at a meeting with Shavkat Mirziyoyev in an extended frame. format, as part of his state visit to the country
In his speech, President Sadyr Japarov noted (text of the speech):
“Dear Shavkat Miromonovitch,
Dear members of the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan,
Once again, I warmly welcome you to Bishkek. It is with great pleasure that we meet you for a state visit to our hospitable land.
Kyrgyzstan always attaches particular importance to the development of cooperation with brotherly Uzbekistan. For us, Uzbekistan is a close neighbor in spirit, a faithful friend and a reliable strategic partner.
And our meeting today bears witness to this, traditionally held in a very warm, open and friendly atmosphere, in a spirit of mutual understanding and constructivism.
First of all, I would like to note once again with great pleasure that today the bilateral relations between our countries are at a high strategic level.
There are no political contradictions between our countries. It is clearly understood that with our joint efforts, we will ensure the further development of the whole complex of bilateral cooperation on the basis of friendship, brotherhood and good neighborliness.
The interparliamentary relations of the two countries, which play an important role in interstate relations, continue their gradual development.
Today we complete the process of delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border. It is truly a historic event.
We have demonstrated our willingness to dialogue and seek mutually acceptable solutions on border issues.
I am convinced that by ending border issues, we will lay a solid foundation for the stable and reliable development and prosperity of our future generations.
I would like to highlight, dear Shavkat Miromonovich, your invaluable role in resolving important issues regarding the demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border.
It is particularly remarkable that such a significant event is confirmed by the exchange of ratifications of the Treaty within the framework of this State visit.
We will also sign the Declaration of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan and, thus, we will bring our relations to an unprecedented level of cooperation.
Dear Shavkat Miromonovitch,
The current year is marked as the year of jubilee in bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. Literally next month, on February 16, we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries.
During the Jubilee Year, I consider it important to raise the status of interstate relations by signing the Treaty on Allied Relations and establishing the Supreme Interstate Council at the level of Heads of State.
I propose to instruct the foreign policy departments of the two countries to prepare the relevant documents.
Dear Shavkat Miromonovitch,
We aim to continue joint work on activating trade and economic cooperation and increasing bilateral trade.
A positive dynamic of mutual exchanges has been observed in recent years. However, we must admit that we have significant unrealized potential in this area.
Within the framework of previously concluded agreements, bilateral documents will be signed today, providing for the launch of large-scale joint investment projects.
The competent bodies, headed by the Deputy Prime Ministers of our countries, have carried out considerable work on the development of joint projects in the field of mining, industrial cooperation, processing of agricultural products, energy, construction, infrastructure for a total amount of more than one and a half billion US dollars.
The number of projects that will be jointly implemented by our country is impressive.
I am confident that the planned projects will be implemented in the near future in full.
Of course, for the practical implementation of investment projects, financing is necessary. In this key we can use the development potential of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Foundation.
I would like to highlight the importance of financing under the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Fund for the development of a joint cotton processing enterprise in the Jalal-Abad region, textile production, the establishment of trade and logistics centers, including in the city of Kyzyl Kiya, as well as the construction of a number of small hydroelectric power stations.
We hope the Fund will become an effective platform for promoting bilateral cooperation between our countries.
I am convinced that joint projects will meet the needs of people and industry in the border regions of our countries, give new impetus to bilateral cooperation, simultaneously develop the supply chain and release the development potential of other industries.
We also promote direct business contacts between entrepreneurs and the regions of our countries.
Yesterday, January 26, the Representative Business Forum “Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan” was held with the participation of more than 200 representatives of business communities of our countries, where issues of cooperation were discussed and major tasks were set. for perspective.
In this regard, I would like to express my gratitude to Sardor Uktamovich and Akylbek Usenbekovich for their participation in this forum.
The Kyrgyz Republic is always open to Uzbek entrepreneurs and is ready to fully support their initiatives and projects, provide maximum assistance in their implementation and protect investments.
Dear Shavkat Miromonovitch,
In the conditions of the modern world order, it is extremely important to undertake efforts to integrate the transport and logistics infrastructure of the countries of Central Asia into the world transport centers and corridors.
Kyrgyzstan is working to improve its international routes. On the program, the reconstruction of railways in the interior of the country and the construction of numerous transcontinental highways.
In this context, I would like to stress the relevance of our joint construction projects of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
The creation of new transport and communication corridors linking the countries of the region will expand the capacities of our States in terms of connecting regional trade networks and maritime routes to global trade markets.
Dear Shavkat Miromonovitch,
It should also be noted that cross-border tourism is gaining popularity in the region. This is the best way to offer foreign tourists a unique opportunity to experience the authentic way of life, to experience the culture, national tastes and traditions of the people of our countries.
For these purposes, I propose to create joint tourism products in the field of recreation (Issyk-Kul, Jalal-Abad), as well as the development of winter (Chunkurchak, Karakol) and spiritual (Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva) tourism .
The Kyrgyz side considers it important to develop cooperation in the field of the organization of joint expeditions to study the prospects of new tourist routes, the implementation of joint initiatives such as a single visa, the creation joint tourism products along the modern Great Silk Road, geoparks, etc. .
Dear Shavkat Miromonovitch,
I would like to note with satisfaction the active dynamics in the cultural and humanitarian field of cooperation.
This year, it is planned to hold the Day of Culture in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, which will make a significant contribution to strengthening humanitarian relations between the two countries.
The major renovation of the Uzbek State Musical and Drama Theater in Osh, named after Babura, will be completed in the near future on the occasion of its 100th anniversary.
We could foresee its opening within the framework of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Uzbekistan for completing the construction of two secondary schools in the Batken region of Kyrgyzstan.
The construction of these schools is a vivid confirmation of the friendship and good neighborliness of our peoples, which the inhabitants of the southern region of Kyrgyzstan have received with great gratitude.
I am sure that the implementation of such socially significant projects will contribute to the strengthening of friendship between our peoples and Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations in general.
Dear Shavkat Miromonovitch,
At the end of my speech, I would like to express my deep conviction that the friendly and fraternal ties forged between the peoples of the two countries, which are based on a common history and culture, on mutual understanding and trust, will help us to move forward together. towards a common goal – the prosperity and improved well-being of our peoples.
Thank you for your attention!”
