Moldova has resumed flights in its airspace

Moldova’s airspace was closed for several hours to civil aviation aircraft on Tuesday.

This was announced by the national carrier Air Moldova and the Aviation Authority of Moldova. The cessation of flights was explained for security reasons, without any details. The authorities promise to provide more information later.

On Monday, Moldovan President Maia Sandu accused Russia of conspiring to overthrow the country’s government.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke of a Russian plot to change the Moldovan government last week, citing Ukrainian intelligence data. A few days later, the Moldovan government resigned.

On February 10, Moldova claimed that a Russian missile violated its airspace in an attack on Ukrainian infrastructure and called on the Russian ambassador to protest.
