In 2023, it is planned to employ more than 200 teenagers in the enterprises of the agro-industrial complex of the Tver region. Ensuring youth employment became the main theme of the first meeting of the Tver region agro-industrial production and education cluster this year. Its participants were representatives of professional educational organizations of the region, the Trade Union of Workers of the Agro-Industrial Complex of the Russian Federation and Agricultural Producers.
“Ensuring the employment of adolescents is part of the system of professional orientation, training of personnel for the economy of the region. Among the priorities of our children should be respect for work, responsible work in the labor force,” Governor Igor Rudenya said.
Last year, across the region, more than 770 local organizations became involved in youth employment. About 8,000 teenagers received work experience in the non-budget and budget spheres. About 200 of them work in agricultural enterprises.

The largest number of teenagers were employed at Znamenskoye Animal Farm LLC. The main tasks of the guys were to feed the minks, to prepare the cages for their maintenance. At Zavolzhsky Meat Processing Plant LLC, teenagers have mastered the professions of packers, line operators and container washers. At the collective farm “Mir” they worked on fodder, at the poultry farm “Verkhnevolzhskaya” – poultry farmers. Also, young farmers tried their hand at weeding root crops at Tver Agroprom LLC.
The activity of employers to attract the younger generation to work is, among other things, the result of increased support from the region. Since 2022, the Tver region has expanded a set of measures to stimulate employers in the real sector of the economy who employ teenagers. Thus, wage compensation has been increased from 50% to 100% of the minimum wage, employers are reimbursed for the costs of providing hot meals to teenagers (for those who work more than 4 hours a day). In addition, a subsidy is provided to remunerate the work of tutors who are assigned to schoolchildren during their work.

Also in the Tver region, active vocational guidance is underway. In 2022, around 100 career guidance events for young people took place in the region. More than 9,500 high school students from the Upper Volga region took part. Educational services fairs, professional orientation days and open days, round tables, competitions and class hours were organized. These events allow school children to decide on the choice of their future profession, to learn about the rules for entering educational establishments, learning conditions and job prospects.
