February 27, 2023, 12:29 – Public Information Service – TEH – The European Mediterranean Seismological Center recorded another earthquake that occurred in the eastern part of Turkey. The relevant information was published on Monday, February 27.
It is pointed out that the magnitude of the tremors was 5.8 points. The natural disaster occurred around 12:04 Moscow time (9:04 UTC).
According to seismologists, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 123 km northwest of the village of Sanliurfa, which is home to 449,000 people, and also 16 km southeast of Malatya, where 441,000 people live.
In this case, the source was fixed at a depth of two km.
Earlier, a magnitude 3.3 earthquake occurred in the Ukrainian region of Transcarpathia. According to known information, seismologists recorded tremors in the area of the village of Bolshaya Dobron, 20 km from Mukachevo. Read more about this in the article from the public press service.
