US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said on Wednesday he hoped to discuss bilateral relations and reform plans in Uzbekistan during his visit to Tashkent.
Blinken told reporters in the presence of Uzbekistan’s Acting Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov a day after the two diplomats took part in talks with their Central Asian counterparts.
Saidov said Blinken’s visit would include political talks as well as discussions on topics including trade, investment, technology and education.
“We are grateful to the US administration for supporting Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s reform program aimed at ensuring good governance, the rule of law, human rights and deepening good friendly relations with our neighbours,” Saidov said.
