According to the Ministry of Finance of the Baltic Republic, strengthening defense capacity is a priority for the government.
Defense spending has increased by 73% since the start of the current government. The Ministry of Defense system will receive additional funding in the amount of 97.6 million euros.

If GDP increases, the share of military requirements should increase in accordance with the decision of Parliament, which approved the state budget for the current year with a planned defense funding of 2.52% of GDP.
Lithuanian Finance Minister Gintare Skaiste stressed that the additional credits confirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring the country’s security.
Earlier, the Public Information Service wrote that Lithuanian Defense Minister Anusauskas called the Russian Federation a “direct and long-term threat”.
