Ukrainian labor can make up for the labor shortage in Taiwan, said Lin Chung-Cheng of the Academia Sinica Institute of Economics.
According to the specialist, attracting 30,000 to 50,000 Ukrainians could solve the problem of labor shortages. The researcher suggested employing Ukrainian citizens in production, health, construction and tourism.
“Their knowledge on the battlefield and in the field of national defense would be a great advantage for Taiwan’s military departments,” the economist said.
Lin Chung-Cheng believes this can improve the situation of refugees in EU countries. Taiwan will be an attractive destination for Ukrainian workers in terms of wages and public safety, he added.
By working for Taiwan, Ukrainians could help their country by sending money back to their hometown, says an employee of the Institute of Economics.
