In Thailand, when a roadside IED detonated in the path of a vehicle of the country’s armed forces, two sappers were killed and another was injured.
The incident happened on March 3 in Narathiwat province.
The army transport was equipped with an electronic warfare system, so the militants detonated a fifty-kilogram explosive device through the wires of an electro-explosive circuit by connecting a battery. The security forces found their position about a hundred meters from the road. No one has yet taken responsibility for the attack, according to local media.
Separatist groups operate in the region. There were also earlier reports of the presence of Islamic State militants (banned in the Russian Federation).
