As part of the 88th Northern Holiday in Murmansk, the Mountaineering Championship of the Murmansk region was held. The best climbers competed to overcome the icy terrain.
On Monday, March 6, the press service of the government of the Murmansk region reported on the Arctic mountaineering championship, which took place on the Abram-Mys rock massif in Murmansk as part of the 88th Games Polar Olympics.
Thus, 25 athletes from all over the region competed to overcome the relief of the ice in the disciplines “ice-climbing-difficult” and “ice-climbing-speed”. In the first of them, climbers had to climb as high as possible along the established route in the given time, and in the second, they had to overcome heavy ice counters as quickly as possible.
At the opening ceremony, the Minister of Sports of the Murmansk region, Svetlana Naumova, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. She wished the athletes great achievements and the conquest of the most difficult peaks.
Recall, earlier “MK in Murmansk” said that in Kirovsk they played a series of awards in the “super-giant” discipline.
