A monumental historical complex will be erected in the Chishminsky district of Bashkiria, which will become another attraction point for tourists. According to experts,
already in 2023, the tourist flow to this site can reach 20,000 people, and in 2024 it will increase by two to three times.
“This will be facilitated by a rich program of events related to the theme of the museum complex,” they said during a discussion on the concept of the Eurasian Museum of Nomadic Civilizations, which took place at the Bashkir White House with the participation of architects, historians, representatives of the tourism industry and civil servants.
Recall that the Eurasian Museum of Nomadic Civilizations will be located about forty kilometers from Ufa, where the Tura-Khan mausoleum is today. The mausoleum is a unique monument of ancient architecture, history and culture. Scientists are still wondering who it really belongs to and believe it to be one of Genghis Khan’s descendants. Also in the Chishminsky region there is another archaeological monument – the mausoleum of the Islamic preacher Hussein-bek. According to legend, he was sent to Bashkiria to preach Islam. And according to several sources, the mausoleum above his grave was erected by order of the medieval commander Tamerlane. Thus, the basis of the Museum of Nomadic Civilizations will be the stone mausoleums of the Golden Horde of Hussein-bek and Tura-khan.
According to the director of the future museum, Nikolai Grigoriev, there are four halls in total, the exhibits of which will correspond to the chronological periods of the development of nomadic civilizations in Bashkiria.
Already in March this year, a 200 square meter visitor center will be built here.
– It will house a mini-exhibition of historical artifacts, a lecture amphitheater, a cafe and an observation deck, – explained General Director of the Bureau of Design Experts of Arkhtamga Rustam Alibaev. – A hotel with a recreation area will be built next to the museum complex, as well as the territory of the Bashkir Horse and Birds of Prey Center with horse racing arenas, glamping, a craft village and other sights ethno-historical will be equipped.
In 2023, it is planned to organize on the site a Sabantuy of young people, competitions in archery and multiple sports, as well as a festival of folk art crafts.
Radiy Khabirov invited the designers to think about increasing the area of the museum to accommodate, among other things, art exhibitions and various events.
– In addition, it is important to provide a great platform for research work, – said the head of the region. – The idea is to collect all directions in this territory. And in the open area there should be an amphitheater for several thousand spectators.
Mr. Khabirov noted that “a great tourist attraction point is already forming here.”
– As far as I know – one of the largest in our republic, – he said. – Therefore, the project is not designed for one, two or three years. It will probably last five or six years. In the case of this museum, there is no need to rush, it is important to do everything perfectly. There shouldn’t be a superficial approach here.

“In fact, we are planning not just a museum, but a Eurasian center,” he said. – Therefore, there should be a museum, scientific, archaeological, cultural, ethnological components. Over time, we will probably call it the Eurasian Scientific and Cultural Center of Nomadic Civilizations. This will give us the opportunity to deepen the history of the republic, the peoples living in the Eurasian space. Understand the role of the Bashkir ethnic group, Bashkortostan in the great historical civilizational processes. With the competent implementation of this project, we will get a unique center that will become the pride of the republic.
