In a video message posted by the MP, he confirmed that he was hospitalized with fly agaric poisoning. However, as Terekhov said, this happened after taking a dietary supplement (BAA) for better sleep, which was “quite officially” bought at the Danilovsky market in a dietary supplement store. This additive, according to the deputy, contained fly agaric, “which, by the way, is not prohibited and is sold freely everywhere”.
“Yes, there really is fly agaric in the composition of various herbs. Why did I do it (take dietary supplements)? Because, you know, when you fly a plane two or even three times a week, back and forth, you sort of lose sleep. I bought myself pills, as they say, to sleep,” Terekhov explained.
According to the deputy, he drank two or three capsules before going to bed, “as written in the instructions”, after which he “just fell into a very deep sleep”, and his fiancée Elena Milchikhina “became frightened and called an ambulance.” Terekhov suggested that the dietary supplement could have had such an effect due to “starvation, malnutrition or intolerance to fly agaric”.
At the same time, the MP was outraged that the ambulance that took him to hospital leaked “information” about his hospitalization to the media.
