The Security Council of Belarus instructed the Ministry of Defense, in cooperation with authorized state bodies, to develop a new military doctrine.
The statement said this must be done due to changes in the military-strategic situation. It was also decided to approve the draft of a new concept of national security, which “reflects the transformation of the entire spectrum of modern threats and defines common approaches for the formation and implementation of the policy of the state in this area.
Belarus will continue public discussion of the concept on various discussion platforms and then provide preparations for submission to the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly for approval. This was told to RIA Novosti.

“In the context of escalating global geopolitical tensions, the main efforts of authorized state bodies, in accordance with their competence, should be focused on the implementation of measures within the framework of strategic deterrence aimed at protecting independence, territorial integrity, sovereignty and the constitutional order from external and internal threats,” the document also states.

Earlier it became known that the US Department of Defense decided to study the compatibility of Western air-to-air missiles with MiG fighters already in service in Ukraine.
