A draft law on the registration of same-sex marriages between servicemen has been submitted to the Rada. It is assumed that the document will provide legal protection for the LGBT military, speaking from the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The author of the proposal, People’s Deputy Inna Sovsun, spoke about it on her Telegram channel.
Parliamentarians are likely to consider this proposal quickly – it can be signed within five days. If the initiative is supported, then the rights of same-sex couples will be enshrined in legislation: reciprocal rights and obligations, questions of property, inheritance, social protection, rights in the event of the death or disappearance of a partner or a partner. It will give more rights to the military of the LGBT environment. Work on the bill has been going on for almost a year.
“I see, I speak to LGBT service members, I hear about their issues. I believe that as a society we must correct a great injustice, when some citizens and women have fewer rights than everyone else” , wrote the deputy.
