The Zakat Affairs Department at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs announced that it provided aid in the amount of (16,814,589) Qatari riyals during the month of February 2023, benefiting (660) families who are eligible for assistance within the State of Qatar, as it included periodic and lump sum aid, all of which are provided by the Zakat Affairs Department to those who are eligible. From the families registered with it in accordance with the controls, legal banks, and approved mechanisms. These amounts were distributed among the periodic aids that are provided on a monthly basis to eligible families with a value of (9,442,840) Qatari riyals, and lump-sum aids, which are one-time aids as needed, with a value of (7,371,749) Qatari riyals. And the Zakat Affairs Department stated in a statement that it provides the service of calculating corporate zakat free of charge to facilitate the companies’ owners in performing the duty. Individuals and companies can also pay their due zakat through the Zakat Affairs Department’s website or through collection offices and points across the country.
