The businessman and son of the governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Alexander Uss, escaped from house arrest in Italy. The search for a Russian businessman is now underway, according to the Italian agency ANSA on Thursday March 23. A court in Milan has already issued a positive decision on the extradition of Artem Uss to the United States.

According to Italian media, Artem Uss, who was detained on an international warrant, left the place where he was under house arrest in an apartment in Milan. It is specified that the businessman arbitrarily removed the electronic tracking bracelet. When the carabinieri arrived at the house, he had already fled.

Artem Uss was arrested on October 17 at Malpensa airport in Milan at the request of the United States. At this time, the Russian was about to fly to Turkey. The US Attorney’s Office charged the businessman with violations of US sanctions against the Russian Federation and Venezuela, illegal transactions and money laundering.

It is also known that on October 27, 2022, Artem Uss was arrested in absentia in Russia on suspicion of money laundering. The next day, the son of the governor of Krasnoyarsk was put on the federal wanted list.
