Our region is the leader in the incidence of tuberculosis. This is why it is so important to inform the public about this disease, its prevention and its early diagnosis.
On the basis of Smolensk Library No. 6, a meeting of city residents with doctors and medical volunteers took place.
Irina Dubchenkova spoke about the features of the disease and its treatment.
Tuberculosis is a widespread infectious disease in humans and animals worldwide, caused by Koch’s bacillus. Tuberculosis usually affects the lungs, rarely affecting other organs and systems.
Until the 20th century, tuberculosis was practically incurable. At present, a comprehensive program has been developed that allows you to identify and cure the disease in the early stages of its development.
The second major topic of the event was blood pressure.
Later, Dr. Ulyana Chemova gave a lesson on correct blood pressure measurement for the elderly population. She told about what pressure can increase, what pressure is normal and when to sound the alarm. She also reminded that in no case should you independently change the prescriptions of the attending physician’s medication, even if you feel better.
- Keep a diary where you will note your performance in the morning and in the evening. This is important both for you and for your attending physician, who, thanks to the indications, will be able to prescribe the right drugs for you, explained Uliana Vladimirovna.
Clinical psychologist Svetlana Kachalova showed exercises to train memory and cognitive functions.
Together with a teacher from the Smolensk State Sports University, the participants performed a dance warm-up, and together with medical volunteers they finished the meeting with joint gymnastics.
