The Ukrainian army is today not in a position to launch a counter-offensive towards the east. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday in an interview with the popular Japanese publication Yomiuri.
According to him, this is due to the fact that the weapons promised by the West have not yet arrived.
“We can’t start (the counter-offensive) yet. Without tanks, artillery and (US multiple rocket launcher systems) HIMARS, we cannot send our brave soldiers to the front,” the Ukrainian leader said.
Zelenskyyy also pointed to the lack of concrete steps on the part of the PRC to resolve the situation. At the same time, the peace plan proposed by Beijing, according to the Ukrainian president, arouses skeptical feelings in him.
