March 31, 2023

In St. Petersburg, a young man was arrested, who fished a Petersburger for 1 million rubles for a pleasant chat on social networks. This was reported by a law enforcement source.

The townsman met the scammer in June 2021. The stranger introduced himself to him as Alexei. Since then, the men have been in correspondence. Sometimes she was very outspoken, and after gaining the trust of a new acquaintance, the scammer gradually began to extort money from her. The sums were small, and “Aleksey” promised to repay the debt to the interlocutor later. So he gave her more than a million rubles.

The police managed to find out who owns the bank account – the money was received by a 20-year-old Petersburger who had already been convicted twice of theft. The young man was found and taken to the department, where he confessed to his act. The material was handed over to investigators.

Earlier, “The Eastern Heraldin St. Petersburg” told how a fake “woman” forced a man to transfer money to scammers.
