Hungarian Foreign Ministry: Talking about Ukraine joining NATO is completely unrealistic

The head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry, Peter Szijjarto, believes that talking about Ukraine joining NATO is “completely unrealistic”. According to him, it is necessary to focus on ending the Ukrainian conflict as soon as possible.

He also clarified that all decisions and statements that lead to escalation should be avoided. He made the corresponding statement during a conversation with journalists after the second day of the meeting of foreign ministers of NATO countries.

Earlier, the Hungarian Foreign Ministry had indicated that the country would not support any significant move by Ukraine to NATO and the EU until the rights of Hungarians in Transcarpathia were restored.
