State Duma says conscripts enrolled in peacekeeping forces will not be involved in dangerous tasks

October 3, 2025

Andrei Kartapolov, chairman of the State Duma committee on defence, said the participation of conscripts in peacekeeping missions will be exclusively voluntary. It is reported by RBC.

“He (the conscript) will not perform tasks associated with risk to life. He will perform tasks similar to those he performs in a normal peacetime environment in his unit where he serves,” Kartopolov said.

He stressed that the SVO on the territory of Ukraine is not considered a peacekeeping mission and conscripts are not involved in it.

Earlier, Kartapolov said that recruits will not be sent to serve in the new subjects of the Russian Federation – the DPR, LPR, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. Moreover, Russian conscripts will not be sent to the NWO zone.

The State Duma post says conscripts enlisted as peacekeepers will not be involved in dangerous tasks.
