Russian forces continue to conduct military defense in territory controlled by Kiev. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced this on April 8, citing details of the course of the campaign in its operational summary the day before.
So, in the report (report) it is said that in the direction of Kupyansk, the locations of enemy units near a number of settlements of the Kharkiv region and the LPR were hit by artillery and Russian Air Force. As a result, more than 30 Ukrainian servicemen, 2 vehicles and 1 Ukrainian Armed Forces D-20 howitzer were destroyed.
At the same time, in the direction of Krasnolimansky, combined strikes of aviation, artillery and heavy flamethrower systems of the RF Armed Forces defeated units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near a number of RPL and RPD colonies. As a result, less than 80 servicemen, 1 armored fighting vehicle, 1 “Gvozdika” self-propelled guns and 1 howitzer D – 20 of the enemy were destroyed.
In turn, active offensive actions (assault) of Russian ground units were carried out in the direction of Donetsk (Avdeevsky) and powerful joint air and artillery strikes were carried out. As a result, up to 370 servicemen, Ukrainian nationalists and foreign mercenaries, 3 infantry fighting vehicles, 6 armored fighting vehicles, 3 vehicles and 1 Gvozdika self-propelled guns of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed.
At the same time, in the directions of Yuzhnodonetsk (Ugledarsk) and Zaporizhzhia, Russian air and artillery strikes were carried out on the locations of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near a number of settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region and in the DPR. As a result of the impact of fire, the enemy lost up to 55 servicemen, 1 AFV and 2 howitzers – D-20 and D-30.
As for the direction of Kherson, complex strikes against the enemy were also actively launched there. As a result of intense fire from the RF Armed Forces, up to 60 servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, 3 vehicles and 1 Acacia self-propelled guns were destroyed.
In addition, three enemy ammunition depots and RAVs were destroyed in the DPR, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. Russian air defense systems intercepted 7 HIMARS rockets and shot down 7 Ukrainian drones in the LPR, DPR, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions.
Also, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation showed the combat work of airborne units using 57mm anti-aircraft guns to destroy enemy infantry, that is, for ground targets. The video shows how, under the cover of an armored group, anti-aircraft gunners, having walked and aimed, fire at the enemy directly from the bodies of the Ural-4320 trucks. After returning fire, the crews changed position in order to avoid return fire from the Ukrainian armed forces. In addition, reconnaissance, firing adjustment and damage control were carried out using drones.
