Novgorod region exports products worth 3 billion rubles to China

– Published on:

The delegation of the Novgorod region during a working visit to China, which has been held since April 4, agreed on the supply of its products for 3 billion rubles. The governor of the Novgorod region said that these are only approximate figures and, most likely, the amount will be much higher.

The parties rely on a lasting and stable partnership. The main export products will be plywood, panels, products for the nuclear industry, honey and radio electronics. This was reported to a TASS correspondent by regional governor Andrei Nikitin.

After the restriction of cooperation with European markets, the region suffered greatly.

“Traditionally, it was still focused on the European markets. Our biggest wood processors arrived as a delegation, and everyone told me that they had agreed on quite serious deliveries here, in China, and solved those logistical problems that were difficult to solve while being on the territory of the Novgorod region,

  • shared Nikitin. Radio-electronic, nuclear and food enterprises of Novgorod also acquired partners in China.

As part of his trip, the mayor of Veliky Novgorod also met with the head of administration of the city of Zibo in the eastern province of Shandong, which is a sister city of Veliky Novgorod. The leaders discussed the prospects for cultural cooperation and exchange and agreed to extend the study of the Chinese language to Novgorod schoolchildren.

Among the priority areas, the governor singled out the areas of science and education.

We also recall that not so long ago, the Novgorod region exported almost 290,000 cubic meters of wood products in the first nine months of this year. This was reported in the northwestern interregional department of Rosselkhoznadzor.

According to the agency, 142,000 cubic meters of products were sent for export to China, this amount was the largest of the batches sent. After China, Turkey took second place in terms of export volume – about 7,000 cubic meters, followed by Korea, which sent almost 5,000 cubic meters.
