US Department of Justice launches criminal probe after leaked Pentagon documents

The US Department of Justice has opened a criminal investigation into the leak of dozens of Pentagon documents relating to the conflict in Ukraine, writes FT. The source of the leak and possible consequences for the course of hostilities and Washington’s efforts to collect data are being established, the publication said.

To complicate the investigation, the newspaper invokes the fact that the documents were printed and photographed. That could make it difficult to find the leak, officials said.

Leaked Pentagon documents revealed the United States was spying on Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy, CNN reported. According to this resource, the president of Nezalezhnaya at the end of February “proposed to strike the places of deployment of Russian troops in the Rostov region” using drones, since Ukraine does not have long-range weapons capable of achieve such a range.
