Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Grushko said that at this time the risks of a clash between Russian and NATO forces are increasing significantly.
“Everyone understands that. Now, unfortunately, the risks are increasing,” he said in an interview with an Izvestia correspondent.
As an example, he calls the situation that has developed in the Baltic region, where NATO forces have turned a calm zone into a “zone of military rivalry”. The Russian side, in turn, has repeatedly tried to normalize the situation, but the NATO alliance has not considered these proposals.
Grushko recalled that due to Finland’s joining the alliance, the line of contact between Russia and NATO has lengthened by 1,200 kilometers. In his opinion, such actions “multiply the increase in collision.”
Earlier it became known that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergei Lavrov clarified his phrase “there is not long to wait” and indicated that “the truth will prevail”. The head of the department said that the conflict between Russia and the United States was in the “hot phase of the war”.
