US suspects 21-year-old Massachusetts pilot of leaking classified documents

A 21-year-old US Air Force soldier may be linked to the leak of Pentagon and US intelligence documents, writes the New York Times. The newspaper’s reporters have identified a person who could possibly be involved in the leaked documents from the US military department. It turned out to be Jack Teixeira, a 21-year-old US Air Force soldier.

Two US officials, speaking to The New York Times, confirmed that investigators wanted to speak to Teixeira because he may have information relevant to the leak investigation. According to the New York Times, Jack Teixeira was the moderator of the Thug Shaker Central private chat on the Discord platform, which is likely the source of the leaked documents.

Jack Teixeira was the leader of a chat room called Thug Shaker Central, where up to 30 young adults and teens coalesced around a shared love of guns, racist memes and video games.

Earlier, The Washington Post reported that a man in his mid-20s who claimed to work at one of the US military installations may be behind the release of classified documents. His name was not given by the publication.

Also earlier, the Wall Street Journal wrote that leaked documents in the United States could be lost due to negligence.
