Mexico City : Gunmen have opened fire on holidaymakers at a resort in central Mexico, killing seven people, including a child. Officials in the municipality of Cortazar in Guanajuato state said in a statement that one person was seriously injured in the shooting at the La Palma resort on Saturday afternoon. The statement did not specify the reason behind the attack.
According to officials, after the firing, the assailants ransacked the spa center and took away security cameras before fleeing. He said three women, three men and a child were killed in the firing. In a video shared on social media, several people wearing swimming costumes were seen crying, screaming, hugging their children and running. Mexican military personnel and police personnel are searching for the attackers with the help of a helicopter.
