He added in a statement today that the committee has started its work after the meetings of the General Assembly for the year 2022, which were held on March 27, where the committee was assigned to start organizing the electoral process for the members of the Executive Committee of the Federation, which will take place on the sidelines of the Ordinary General Assembly on the first of June. next. He explained that the committee will examine the nomination papers and ensure that they meet all conditions, which stipulate that the candidate has been recommended by one of the 18 members, who are the football clubs that participated in the official activities during the 2022/2023 season, in addition to the Qatar Stars League. He continued: "After the blessed Eid Al-Fitr holiday, the candidates will be notified of whether or not their candidacy has been accepted after examining all the attached documents. which is chaired by a judicial supervisor where its decision will be final". He stressed that the Electoral Commission will announce the final list of candidates on May 17, and they will be involved in the electoral process during the Federation’s General Assembly in June. On the method of elections and the calculation of votes according to the positions / chairman and members of the Executive Committee / he said: The elections will be held by secret ballot in accordance with Article (28) of the Articles of Association of the Qatar Football Association, and it is necessary to elect the (president) a relative majority of two-thirds of the registered and effective votes in the first ballot, In the event of resorting to the second ballot and any other necessary ballot, the absolute majority of the recorded votes (50% + 1) is sufficient in accordance with Article (42) of the Articles of Association of the Qatar Football Association. In the event that candidates for other positions in the Executive Committee (members) are elected, it takes place by (50% + 1) of the registered and effective votes in the first ballot. In the second round, an absolute majority of the recorded votes is sufficient. In the event that one candidate applies for one available position, the election shall be by voting, and the decision to vote shall be by an absolute majority (50% + 1) of valid and valid votes.
