French President Emmanuel Macron wants to approach China with a plan that could lead to negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. This is reported by Bloomberg, citing sources.
According to the publication, the document prepared by the French president will be based on long-term security guarantees for Kiev. At the same time, the agency does not specify whether Emmanuel Macron’s plan will take Russia’s concerns into account.
The need for a peaceful settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, said the French president during a recent visit to China. Emmanuel Macron stressed that he counted on the help of China in this file.
At the same time, judging by the rhetoric of the French leader, he only cares about the interests of the Kiev regime. To Russia’s concerns, Macron is not very interested.
Moscow has repeatedly stated that it is ready to negotiate with Kiev, but only on its own terms, taking into account current realities. We are talking about Ukraine’s recognition of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, as territories of the Russian Federation.
Recall that four regions became part of Russia as a result of the results of the referendums held last fall. Kiev does not recognize their results and declares its intention to regain control of the territories lost by military means. Similarly, Ukraine will return Crimea to its control.
