Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Cosmonaut Sergei Korsakov spent several days at home – in Kyrgyzstan

There were many official events with the participation of the star guest in Bishkek. However, two encounters, according to him, became special for him.

The first took place in the native school-gymnasium N 24 named after Aaly Tokombaev. Sergei Korsakov walked into his class with wistful excitement and even sat down at his desk. Meanwhile, the meeting room of the educational institution, where the meeting with the astronaut was being prepared, could hardly accommodate everyone. Not only teachers and schoolchildren came, but even some parents of students. The choreographic group performed the national dance “Manas” for Sergey, and the schoolchildren organized an exhibition of crafts on the theme of space. After that, Sergey Korsakov, together with the guys, sang the song “Stars” from the Russian rock band “Umaturman”.

  • I am very happy that I met Astronautics Day in my hometown of Bishkek, the city where I spent my childhood, and also acquired qualities that helped me achieve my dream star childhood, – admitted Sergey Korsakov. – Don’t be afraid to pursue your dreams. Of course, there will be difficulties, but I believe that everyone will have the strength to overcome them.
The meeting ended with a pleasant surprise. Schoolchildren accepted the cosmonaut in their children’s organization “Achyk Asman”, which means “Clear sky” in Russian.

With great impatience, Sergei Korsakov was also expected in the administration of the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Zhaparov.

“I don’t know how it is now, but in our time, every second child wanted to become an astronaut,” admitted the leader of Kyrgyzstan. – I think you were not an exception, but, fortunately, your dream came true. For my part, I would like to invite you and your colleagues to rest on the coast of Issyk-Kul, to visit those places where Yuri Gagarin was recovering after the flight.

Sergei Korsakov presented Sadyr Japarov with the flag of Kyrgyzstan, which he took with him to low Earth orbit. It bears the stamp of the International Space Station (ISS) specifying that it was delivered by the Soyuz probe on March 18, 2022, accompanied the expedition until September 29, 2022, and was its talisman. In addition, the cosmonaut gave Sadyr Zhaparov photographs from space, including Lake Issyk-Kul.

“Kyrgyzstan holds a special place in my heart, because my childhood and youth passed here,” said Sergey Korsakov, addressing the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. – Here I received an education, here my character was formed, first of all, perseverance and perseverance, which influenced my career.
Journalists also looked forward to the meeting with Sergei Korsakov. There were a lot of questions from the writing and filming brothers. Instead of an hour allotted for a press conference, the communication lasted more than two. They asked about preparations for the flight, problems with space debris, whether Sergey had seen aliens and whether he wanted his children to become astronauts too. But above all, Korsakov was surprised by the question asked by the correspondent of Rossiyskaya Gazeta: “Do you know that your smile resembles Gagarin’s?”

“It’s the first time I’ve heard that from you, but I won’t hide from you that I’m very happy,” replied the cosmonaut, smiling.
