The US Department of Energy warned Rosatom against US technologies located in the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant

The US Department of Energy told Russian state-owned Rosatom that the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant contains US technology, as well as technical information under US control, CNN reports.

The agency confirmed the authenticity of the letter, saying it was sent on March 17, 2023. The letter notes that unauthorized access to technology and data subject to export controls is a violation of US law. .

America also called on the Russian side “not to touch” these “nuclear technologies”. The letter does not specify what exactly it is.


Earlier, Renat Karchaa, adviser to the general director of the Rosenergoatom enterprise, said that the number of employees at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant will increase to 4.5 thousand people.
