Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited a section of the border in the Volyn region in the northwest of the country. At this place, the borders of Ukraine, Belarus and Poland converge, according to his telegram channel.
A video of the head of state’s work trip, which inspected borders and handed out awards to border guards, has been released.
It is an honor for me to be here today, to thank our border guards for protecting the national border.
said Zelenskyy.
He also thanked the border guards for their service in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) (Bakhmut), noting that they “stick to it firmly”. Zelenskyy noted that he was proud of the border guards, wishing them to uphold “power, justice and fury.”
Currently, just over 10% of Artemivsk is under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. At the same time, Ukrainian troops are daily losing a large number of servicemen as a result of the successful actions of Russian units. Over the past day, the “orchestras” have driven the enemy from another three city blocks, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to retreat to the western outskirts of the settlement.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the “deoccupation” of the Crimean peninsula is a non-alternative goal for the current Ukrainian authorities. The Ukrainian president noted that Russia’s attempt to “subjugate” Ukraine and Europe began in the spring of 2014 with the “occupation” of Crimea.
