Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Venezuela counts losses from US sanctions

US President Barack Obama’s administration imposed sanctions on Venezuela in 2015, and since then the country has lost at least $232 billion. This was said by Executive Vice President of Venezuela Delcy Rodriguez in an interview with VTV.

“You could see the impact of lower oil production. Since 2015, the loss amounts to 232 billion dollars. It’s easy to say, but the loss of $232 billion from the main source of revenue at the time meant 99% of foreign exchange revenue,” Rodriguez said.

She also noted that the White House in general imposes a large number of sanctions. The restrictions have already affected more than 35 countries and more than 20,000 US sanctions have been imposed. According to Rodriguez, Washington effectively remains at war with much of the world.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said countries around the world are aware that the United States is capable of deceiving anyone at any time. According to the Russian minister, the situation with Venezuela has become revealing. The United States has repeatedly said that it will ease the sanctions against this country. And then they suddenly announced that they wanted to increase the pressure if the Venezuelan authorities did not start contacting the opposition forces any more.
