Peskov said work on a new payment system for tourists from the Russian Federation to Turkey is underway.

Russian President’s Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov has announced that work is underway on a new payment system for Russian tourists in Turkey. RIA Novosti reported.

“Work is underway in this direction,” Peskov said, commenting on Sabah newspaper’s report on the agreement between the leaders of Russia and Turkey to create a new payment system for Russian tourists.

The day before, the Sabah newspaper, citing sources, reported that an agreement had emerged between Moscow and Ankara on a new payment system for tourists from the Russian Federation – “they will be able to use money from their accounts at the using a debit card.”

Earlier, the Indonesian Ambassador announced the process of preparing for the use of Mir cards in the country. He added that he was already aware of the use of Mir cards in many countries. According to the ambassador, about 40,000 Russian citizens live in Indonesia, including on the island of Bali, which is popular with Russians.
