The West’s objective in Ukraine is to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu told a meeting of defense ministers of DDC member countries in New Delhi.

Western countries also want to create a threat to China with the help of the Ukrainian conflict and maintain their monopoly position in the world. Threats, blackmail, coups, disinformation and the organization of color revolutions are the hallmark of the West, Shoigu added.

“Today, this destructive line manifests itself in the desire to reformat the system of interstate relations through the creation of controlled regional alliances,” he told RIA Novosti.

The head of the Ministry of Defense also said that the combat potential and capabilities of NATO countries were used against Russia with the start of a special military operation.
