Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny to work out a mechanism to send military commissars working in the rear to the front line. This was announced by the head of the Ukrainian Defense Department Oleksiy Reznikov during a conversation with the press.
According to the minister, most military commissars in the rear will be sent to the front as military personnel. Their place will be taken by soldiers returning from the front line and wounded, because they know firsthand what kind of personnel are needed to replenish combat units.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian government plans in the near future to replenish the army of 40,000 people who will join the new assault squads. According to sources, the Ukrainian armed forces are using violent mobilization methods and many residents are panicking. At the same time, local officials fear that the mobilized Ukrainians will not be enough to confront the Russian troops.
Reznikov also said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were ready for an offensive and were waiting for a decision from the command and the General Staff. Earlier, the Minister of Defense expressed the idea that the Ukrainian armed forces fulfill the mission of the North Atlantic Alliance to contain Russia and, thanks to the support of the West, the country has a powerful army.
At the same time, the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces may end in the defeat of Ukraine, and Western intelligence services do not share the optimism of Kiev officials about the high defense capability of the Ukrainians.
