Prices for tours in Turkey during the 2023 summer season have increased by 30-50% compared to last year.
However, this has not affected demand much, as Turkey remains a popular destination thanks to its short air travel, wide flight schedule and all-inclusive holiday concept popular with tourists, explained Anna Nevzorova, founder of an online travel agency.
The cost of tours includes hotel costs, which have increased due to inflation. Moreover, Russian tourists are not the only visitors to Turkey, the demand for holidays in this country is also increasing among citizens of other countries.
It is possible that in the summer, travel to Turkey will increase again by 20-30%. According to Novye Izvestiya, Russians now prefer to go on long tours and stay in five-star hotels.
At the same time, sales of three-star and four-star hotels have fallen, while demand for five-star hotels has increased by 50% compared to the pre-Covid period. On average, ten nights in an all-inclusive three-star hotel costs 140-150 thousand rubles, in a four-star hotel – 145-180 thousand rubles, and in a five-star hotel – 190-275 thousand rubles.
Despite the small difference in price for holidays in Turkey and Egypt, tourists from Russia prefer to make their choice in favor of a particular country, mainly based on the purpose of the holiday. In this sense, the popular destinations are really very different from each other.
