The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Khartoum evacuated 203 people from Sudan. It is reported by RIA Novosti in reference to a source in the capital of the African state.

“203 people were evacuated from the Russian Embassy in Khartoum. The planes with them half an hour ago already flew to Cairo and, after refueling, continued to fly to Moscow,” the official said. interlocutor of the agency.

He added that among those evacuated from Khartoum there were citizens of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine.


Earlier, US President Joe Biden confirmed that officials had been evacuated from the US Embassy in Sudan. The White House chief added that the US diplomatic mission in Sudan is temporarily halting its work.
