Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Measuring 0.65mm, the smallest skin cancer ever discovered

Almost invisible to the human eye, the small spot is melanoma, the deadliest type of skin cancer.

Doctors told Stats that her malignant lump was the smallest skin cancer ever detected and earned her a Guinness World Record.

Dr. Alexander Witkowski, an assistant professor of dermatology at Oregon Health & Science University who discovered the cancer, said the discovery means skin cancer can be treated before it spreads.

The team overseeing the case confirmed that it was melanoma, also called stage 0 melanoma.

Dr Witkowski said Ms States’ cancer was caught before it had a chance to spread to other parts of her body.

Ms Stats expressed her gratitude for the early discovery of the tumor and said: “I think it’s possible for anyone to be as lucky as me with the right technology.”

Melanoma accounts for only a small portion of skin cancers in general, but it causes the vast majority of skin cancer deaths.
