King Charles III and Camilla arrive at Westminster Abbey for the coronation

London: King Charles III and his wife Camilla arrive at Westminster Abbey on Saturday for a historic coronation in a religious ceremony nearly a thousand years old. Westminster Abbey has been the site of every British coronation since William the Conqueror in 1066, and King Charles III and his wife, Queen Camilla, will follow in this grand tradition. The royal couple traveled from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey. They reached the coronation site by riding in a cart.

After the coronation, Charles and Camilla will return to the palace in a ‘gold state coach’. She will be crowned by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, which symbolizes the power of the monarch of England. During this, religious leaders and representatives of Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, Buddhist and Jewish communities will also be present. The country’s first Hindu Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will read a message from the book ‘Kullasiyon Ki Bible’ during this period. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and his wife Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar are representing India on this historic occasion.
