Chief Wagner accuses Russian army unit of deserting Bakhmut

May 9, 2023

Prigozhin said, “Today a Ministry of Defense unit fled from one of our positions … which exposed the front.”

The founder of Wagner’s forces repeated his promise to withdraw his group from Bakhmut, if the Russian army did not provide more ammunition.

Prigojine said:

The Russian state is not in a position to defend the country. Ukrainian troops “rip off the flanks” in the direction of Bakhmut. Ukrainian forces will launch a counterattack in the near future. No soldier should die because of the sheer stupidity of his command. We have obtained 10% of the necessary ammo, but we will not leave Bakhmut and we will fight for a few more days. Now the main task is to supply everyone with the ammunition that is in the warehouses.

Prigozhin has repeatedly leveled accusations against Russian military leaders over ammunition and last time threatened to withdraw his forces from the town of Bakhmut, which his forces spearheaded to control.
