What is the Sling of David?

A system designed to shoot down missiles launched at a distance of 100-200 kilometers. The system is part of Israel’s Missile Shield, which already includes the Iron Dome system to intercept short-range missiles, and the “Arrow 2” and “Arrow 3” systems to intercept long-range missiles. Israel has used Iron Dome extensively to intercept rockets launched from Gaza. David’s Sling was developed and manufactured by the Israeli state company Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, in partnership with the American company Raytheon. The “David’s Sling” is also designed to intercept “cruise” missiles. The missile threat from Iran was the catalyst for the development of the Arrow missiles.
