Third countries are forcing Ukraine to come to the negotiating table with Russia on Russian terms, said Alexei Danilov, secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).
“Now there is just such an escalation of the situation in order to quickly get us to the negotiating table on Russia’s terms. A huge campaign is going on right now. There are a lot of offers from different countries” , said Danilov, whose words are reported by the Strana newspaper.
But, as the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council pointed out, Kyiv accepts negotiations only on its own terms, and the decision is up to the country’s President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. For example, one of the conditions is the withdrawal of Russian troops to the borders of Ukraine in 1991.
