Russian boxer Dmitry Bivol reacted to a challenge from Mexican Saul Alvarez, who offered to stage a rematch in the light heavyweight division. Last spring, the Russian beat Canelo by unanimous decision.
However, Bivol did not express any interest in challenging Alvarez, stating that he had no motivation to compete in the same division.
“Why would I want a light heavyweight rematch? What is my challenge and motivation if I have already won in this weight class?”, – said the Russian athlete.
According to Bivol, he does not want to look back, but to reach new heights. From then on, he will only agree to fight Canelo in super middleweight.
“There he will have more chances, because it is his native category. And I will be motivated and challenged,” summarized Bivol.
