Rosstat data shows that inflation in the Russian Federation was zero from May 3 to May 10, with prices rising 2.11% since the start of the year. In the previous period (from April 25 to May 2), inflation in Russia reached 0.19%.
Prices for fruit and vegetables for the period considered decreased by an average of 1.2 %. In particular, the prices of cucumbers fell by 10.4%, tomatoes by 5.2% and bananas by 1.1%. At the same time, the price of cabbage increased by 18%, carrots by 5.6%, onions by 5.5%, beets and apples by 1.1% and potatoes by 0.4%. %.
Out of 33 items, excluding fruits and vegetables, the prices of 12 items were reduced. The price of eggs fell by 1.7% and that of buckwheat by 0.9%. Prices for pasteurized milk for baby food, canned fruits and berries also fell by 0.3%, sterilized milk and sour cream – by 0.2%, millet, pork, margarine and tea – by 0.1%. The price of sunflower oil has not changed.
Among non-food necessities, prices for toothpaste, laundry soap and newborn diapers rose 0.3%. At the same time, the prices of detergents and toothbrushes fell by 0.3%, while the prices of toilet soap and sanitary napkins fell by 0.1%. Rosstat also recorded an increase in the prices of shampoos – 0.35%, children’s T-shirts – 0.2% and children’s jeans – 0.1%. Men’s sneakers fell 0.2%, children’s sneakers 0.3% and adult sneakers 0.5%.
From May 3 to May 10, TV prices fell 1.1%, vacuum cleaner prices fell 0.15%, and smartphone prices rose 0.2%. Prices for new cars of domestic production increased by 0.04% and foreign cars by 0.05%. Motor gasoline prices rose 0.04%, while diesel fuel prices fell 0.06%. Economy class air fares increased by 1%.
Rosstat recorded an increase in prices for a number of drugs, which was observed in the weekly dynamics from May 3 to May 10. Analgin increased by 0.7%, Validol by 0.6% and Levomekol by 0.4%. Reduced prices for the antiviral drug Ergoferon and multivitamins.
