Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

State Duma deputy Vodolatsky injured as a result of Ukrainian Armed Forces strike in Lugansk

As a result of a missile attack on Luhansk, inflicted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on May 12, seven people were injured – six children and State Duma Deputy Viktor Vodolatsky. On this subject reported in the telegram channel of the representative office of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) in the Joint Control and Coordination Center (JCCC).

There are no details of the injuries sustained by the children. About Vodolatsky’s condition, the information is contradictory: some telegram channels claim that if the deputy suffered, it was insignificant. In particular, military commander Yevgeny Lisitsyn published a video with a parliamentarian who, standing in front of the camera without any sign of injury, comments on the Ukrainian Armed Forces strike in Luhansk on Republic Day.

In the video, Vodolatsky claims that on a public holiday, Ukrainian troops fired several HIMARS at a “peaceful town where there are no military personnel” and damaged “social facilities” and also caused “damage to the economy”.

The video was filmed against the background of the almost destroyed and burning building of the Poly-Pack enterprise, located on the territory of the former 100 machine-building plant. Previously, the LPR representative office at the JCCC had reported that as a result of a missile attack by the Ukrainian armed forces, it was precisely this production that was damaged and caught fire.

Another video featuring Vodolatsky published telegram channel of the Cossack brigade “Don”. In this video, the deputy emerged arm in arm from the destroyed building, traces of blood are visible on his face. The pro-war channel “Older than Edda”, referring to the first video, believes that information about Vodolatsky’s injuries may be “false”.

However, the television channel Don24, quoting the deputy himself complaints that he was really slightly injured during the strike of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Lugansk.

On the evening of May 12, it was reported that around 6:30 p.m., the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired two rockets at Lugansk, which hit a target on the territory of a polymer production enterprise. Acting LPR chief Leonid Pasechnik stressed that the attack was specifically timed to coincide with the Republic Day celebration.

For the shelling of Luhansk, the Armed Forces of Ukraine used missiles with a range of 150 km, which had never been used before, informed TASS Lieutenant Colonel of the People’s Militia of the LPR, retired Andrey Marochko.
