Oldest Hebrew Bible sold for $38 million

The winning bid was made possible by a donation from Alfred Moses, former US ambassador and chairman of the American Jewish Committee, who presented the copy to the Jewish Museum in Tel Aviv.

The sale price was below Sotheby’s estimate of $50 million for the print in February, according to Reuters.
