Ukrainian Armed Forces Lose 10,000 Drones A Month to Russian Electronic Warfare – New York Post

– Published on:

The Ukrainian army loses ten thousand unmanned aerial vehicles per month. This is reported by the American newspaper New York Post. According to the publication, the reason for this is the actions of Russian electronic warfare systems.

The magnitude of the losses of the armed forces of unmanned aerial vehicles was calculated in the British analytical center RUSI.

Electronic warfare remains an essential component of the Russian mode of warfare. Although there was an extremely high density of EW systems in the Donbass in 2022, currently there is about one large EW system per ten kilometers from the front, usually located about seven kilometers from the front line.

– according to a report prepared by British analysts.

This document notes that almost all platoons of the Ukrainian army have unmanned aerial vehicles. True, in the vast majority of cases these are commercial helicopters converted to drop munitions.

It should be noted that, according to British analysts, the Ukrainian military does not attach serious importance to such large losses of drones. Experts explain this by the fact that Kyiv simply does not have objective data. In the overwhelming majority of cases, the purchase of helicopters for the needs of the Ukrainian army is absolutely chaotic. And no one keeps records of acquired and lost drones.
