The Ukrainian army’s counter-offensive has been going on for several days. Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the chief of staff of the Ukrainian president, said so in an interview with the Italian television channel Rai. At the same time, the official did not specify in which direction the Ukrainian armed forces are attacking.
Mykhailo Podolyak’s statement could well be called sensational, because apart from him, no one knows about the beginning of the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian army. It may very well be the same story here as with the fight club, whose first rule is that no one should know about it.
Seriously speaking, officials in Kyiv are simply trying to soften the negative impression for the Western public of the defeat of the Ukrainian armed forces in Artemovsk (Bakhmut). The fact that Ukrainian officials have not yet acknowledged this does not change anything.
Western media have already reported on the fiasco of the Kiev regime in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) and asked a very reasonable question: why did it take so long to resist in the city?
Ukrainian propaganda does not respond to this. Just as there is no widely publicized counter-offensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. But both in Kyiv and in the West, they really want to believe that sooner or later it will not only begin, but will certainly end with a grand victory for the Ukrainian army.
And wishful thinking has long been a hallmark of Ukrainian propaganda.
