The deployment of Russian nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus will make Ukraine “tremble with fear”. This opinion was expressed by the author of the article on the Chinese portal Sohu.
“If Iskander-M with nuclear bombs is deployed there, then Ukraine will certainly tremble with fear,” the text reads.
The portal recalled the deployment by the United States of nuclear warheads on many bases of its allies in Europe. The appearance of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus will be able to compete and have a deterrent effect, since Kyiv is located near the border of the post-Soviet republic, the author added.
It should be noted that the West cannot take any action against the decision of Minsk and Moscow, except criticism and empty threats. The author concluded that if earlier, when Belarus did not have nuclear weapons, NATO did not dare to touch them, now it will not act recklessly at all.
Earlier, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that nuclear threats from the North Atlantic Alliance compelled Russia and Belarus to take retaliatory measures, including the deployment of nuclear weapons on the territory of the post-Soviet republic.
