Today (June 24) is the day to remember the sacrifice of ‘Maharani Durgavati’, the great heroine of the past. No one can forget his indomitable courage. It should not be forgotten and the coming generation should also be told about it. To live her heroic story forever, the government has issued a postage stamp on her name and Jabalpur University has been renamed as ‘Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya’. Apart from this, many museums have also been named after him. Mandla Government College of Madhya Pradesh is also now known as Rani Durgavati. His statues have also been installed in many districts and it has been decided to name many government buildings after him. Such decisions of governments are really universal and commendable. Because by doing this, the knowledge of the coming generations also increases. So that they know what all the warriors had done to protect the country and the society? In the era of Google and WhatsApp, it is becoming very important to tell about such heroes and heroines. In the Google-mobile era, people are forgetting history.
Rani Durgavati was such an example of bravery who not only freed the sixes of the opponents, but also defeated them in the field-e-jung with her indomitable courage. Muslim ruler Baj Bahadur attacked him several times. But, every time he had to eat his mouth. Whenever there is talk of women heroines, Rani Durgavati will be remembered for sounding the bugle against the Mughal Empire. The younger generation will always be inspired by the inspiring stories of the Queen’s courage. Durgavati was the queen of the Jabalpur Garha kingdom of Madhya Pradesh. His reign lasted from 1550 to 1564 AD. He was counted among the famous Chandel Kshatrani of India. Opponents were also convinced of her heroics. This trinity of valor was born on the day of Durgashtami, October 5, 1524, at the house of King Kirtivarman Chandela (II) of Kalinjar.
The queen will always be remembered for defending her kingdom against the Mughal Empire. Talking about the major battles fought by them, Muslim ruler Baj Bahadur attacked the prosperous area of Mandavi Gondo several times. Apart from that, Mughal ruler Akbar also wanted to win the state and put the queen in his harem. To start the dispute, he asked to send the queen’s favorite white elephant and his trusted vizier Aadhar Singh to him as a gift. The queen refused. On this, Akbar attacked the Gondwana kingdom under the leadership of one of his relatives, Asaf Khan. Then thousands of tribal Bhils, Gaurs and Banjara community people protected Rani Durgavati. Many lost their lives, but the queen did not let anything happen. The queen defeated Asaf Khan and drove him out of his territory. After that, Akbar himself suddenly attacked Durgavati with twice the army. Then the queen had very few soldiers, yet did not give up. About three thousand Mughal soldiers were killed in the war. The queen somehow saved her life in that war.
Akbar got very dirty, people started making fun of him, that he could not defeat a woman? Attacked again after about a year after coming to Khunnas. Then the side of the queen was very weak. The war had started, then the queen sent her son Narayan to a safe place. The war continued for several days. One day while fighting, an arrow hit his arm, the queen threw it out. The second arrow entered his eye. The queen threw him out too. Just then, a third arrow severely damaged his neck. If it didn’t work, the queen urged her vizier Aadhar Singh to cut her neck with his sword at the last moment. But, he was not ready. In the end, the queen herself sacrificed herself by separating her neck from the body with her dagger and attained Veergati on this day i.e. 24 June 1564. Died while dying, but did not like to bow down to anyone. Repeated salutations to the great warrior who sacrificed her life for freedom and self-respect on her death anniversary today.
